The majority of dental offices provide regular peri-implant maintenance therapy to their patients. As implant treatment is becoming more common it is anticipated that the number of patients requiring peri-implant maintenance will also increase.
This presentation will review the current research on peri-implant maintenance, as well as the etiology and treatment of the most common biological complications such as fungal infections, soft tissue hyperplasia, peri-implant mucositis, and peri-implantitis encountered in dental offices. Preventive steps will be discussed as well as practical screening tools for the dental practitioner maintaining dental implants. In this comprehensive overview participants should:

- Diagnose the most common long term peri-implant complications
- Be aware of the various treatment options of the most common peri-implant complications
