Oral Pathology

Oral Pathology

Oral Pathology, also known as oral and maxillofacial pathology, is the specialty of dentistry and the discipline of pathology that deals with the nature, identification, and management of diseases affecting the oral and surrounding regions. It is a science that investigates the causes, processes, and effects of these diseases. The practice of oral pathology includes research and diagnosis of diseases using clinical, radiographic, microscopic, biochemical, or other examinations.

Working together with your general dentist, our oral pathologists can help prevent, diagnose and treat a wide range of neoplastic (including pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions), cystic, infectious and chronic inflammatory disorders of the mouth.
