Winnipeg orthodontist Dr John Campbell, born and raised in Winnipeg, the oldest son of an orthodontist, Dr William Campbell, decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. He graduated from The University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry and after graduation interned in pediatric dentistry at the Health Sciences Centre under the Faculty of Dentistry. Following that year, he enrolled in the graduate program at The University of Manitoba for his orthodontic specialty education and received his Master of Science as well as his specialty certificate in orthodontics. Dr Campbell returned to the University of Manitoba as a clinical instructor for more years than he can recall and taught orthodontics to second year dental students. He has always enjoyed teaching and that includes helping people understand their orthodontic treatment.
Dr Campbell has never been satisfied with the status quo in his orthodontic treatments and began using passive self-ligating braces very early when they appeared two decades ago. He loves the results of broad full smiles – very rarely having to take out teeth to achieve those smiles for his patients.
Dr Campbell’s other passion is philosophy and is writing a book on the meaning of life – stay tuned.
