Dr. Georgios (George) Maroulakos earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in Greece from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Dentistry in 2008. He completed his specialization training in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Baylor College of Dentistry, where he received the Robert S. Staffanou Memorial Graduate Prosthodontic Award. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Marquette University School of Dentistry. In 2016, he was the recipient of the American Dental Education Association Junior Faculty Award.

Dr. Maroulakos is a member of several dental societies including the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the Greek Dental Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics. He has presented research and table clinics in numerous meetings nationally and internationally and has authored several papers in scientific journals.
In his free time, Dr. Maroulakos enjoys playing the piano, listening to music, going to the movies and visiting different places all over the world.

Course Abstract:

Dental wear is an existing and increasing problem. Dental rehabilitation of patients that present with dental wear can be a very challenging task. This course will provide the foundation for the diagnosis, planning, and rehabilitation of patients with worn dentitions.

  • Differentiate the different types and identify the etiology of dental wear
  • Select an appropriate treatment position for the patient
  • Determine if an alteration in the occlusal vertical dimension may have occurred
  • Select an appropriate “new” occlusal vertical dimension
  • Describe step-by-step rehabilitation techniques
  • Describe different materials used for the rehabilitation of dental wear
